Aircraft Carrier Showdown: US and China in the Pacific This Week

This week saw significant naval activity in the Pacific Ocean with aircraft carriers from both the U.S. and China on the move. An American carrier departed from the West Coast to change its home port to Japan, joining U.S. forces in Northeast Asia.

On the other hand, a Chinese aircraft carrier completed its mission in the Philippine Sea and is now heading southwest toward the Philippines and the contentious South China Sea, where it vies for territorial claims against Manila.

Additionally, Italy’s aircraft carrier has made its way to India after conducting a joint exercise and visiting three countries in the South China Sea last month as part of its Indo-Pacific deployment.
