Hey there! So, it looks like Denmark‘s Food Safety Authority decided to pull the plug on the Buldak Instant Noodles, labeling them as a “acute-poisoning” risk for kids and adults. Yikes!
If you’ve been online, you’ve probably seen the hype around the Buldak spicy Ramen from South Korea‘s Samyang. These noodles have taken the internet by storm with all those crazy food challenges. According to Samyang’s website, they’ve become a global foodie icon!
The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration dropped the bomb that the recall affected three spicy products: Samyang Buldak 3 x Spicy & Hot Chicken, 2 x Spicy & Hot Chicken, and Hot Chicken Stew.
So, here’s the tea – young peeps in Denmark are challenging each other on TikTok and Insta to slurp down this fiery noodle broth. But the Danish agency got worried about too much capsaicin – that’s the stuff that gives chilies their kick!
The challenge is all about dealing with that spicy capsaicin sauce. But, apparently, it can be a health hazard if you go overboard, especially for kids and the elderly. Symptoms might include burning sensations, discomfort, nausea, vomiting, and even high blood pressure.
The Food Authority told stores to ditch these noodles and advised folks to toss them out. “Products that are recalled should not hit the shelves again,” they emphasized.
Samyang from Seoul, Korea said that this is the very first time they’ve had to recall a product for spicy reasons. They believe it’s all about the spice content, not the noodle quality.
Cardi B, the famous rapper, even got in on the noodle hype in the U.S. last month by giving them a shoutout. And get this – Samyang’s shares went up by 0.82% recently. Looks like spice pays off!
